Tasks and issues help you track and complete compliance work across assessments and programs.

Tasks vs. Issues

Tasks are work items used to achieve or maintain compliance, such as:

• Regular activities (review access, update policies)
• Remediation work
• One-time or recurring compliance activities

Issues are problems or findings that need resolution, such as:

• Compliance gaps discovered during assessments
• Audit findings
• Security incidents affecting compliance

Creating a Task

To create a new task:

  1. Click Add Task (from the Tasks page or within an assessment/program)

  2. Fill in the details:
    • Title
    • Description
    • Due date
    • Owner
    • Related controls

  3. Click Create

Creating an Issue

To create a new issue:

  1. Click Add Issue (from the Issues page or within an assessment)

  2. Fill in the details:

    • Title
    • Description of the problem
    • Due date
    • Owner
    • Related controls

  3. Click Create

Linking to Controls

Both tasks and issues can be linked to one or more controls. This:

• Shows which compliance requirements are affected
• Helps auditors understand remediation efforts
• Provides context for the work

Status Workflow

Tasks and issues move through workflow stages:

  1. To Do—Not yet started

  2. In Progress—Currently being worked on

  3. Done—Completed

Your workspace may also have custom statuses configured by administrators.

Assigning Owners

Each task or issue should have an owner responsible for:

• Completing the work
• Updating status
• Attaching evidence when finished

Tracking Due Dates

Overdue tasks affect:

• Your personal dashboard (shows overdue items)
• Program health (controls become “unhealthy”)
• Assessment completion

Staying on top of due dates helps maintain continuous compliance.

Attaching Artifacts

When completing a task or issue, attach artifacts as evidence:

  1. Click Add Artifact

  2. Upload your files

  3. Add descriptions

This creates an audit trail showing the work was completed.
