Take photos during a ride

Use the camera in Equilab while you track, so your training keeps recording and each photo is pinned on the map.

Take photos with the camera in Equilab while you track a training. The training keeps recording, and each photo is pinned on the training's map so you can see where you took it. Taking photos during a training is free for every rider.

Before you start

  • The camera in Equilab works on iPhone and on Android 10 or later.

  • If you want copies in your phone's photo gallery, allow Equilab to save photos when it asks.

Why use the camera in Equilab

Opening your phone's own camera app during a training can make your phone pause or close Equilab in the background, which interrupts the recording. The camera in Equilab avoids this.

Take a photo during a training

  1. Start tracking your training as usual.

  2. On the tracking screen, tap the camera icon in the bottom-right corner.

  3. Take your photo.

  4. Continue your ride. Equilab keeps tracking the whole time.

You can take as many photos as you like during a training.

Find your photos after the training

When you finish and save the training:

  • All photos from the training are added to its Training Summary.

  • The training's map shows a camera pin for each photo. Maximize the map view and tap a camera pin to see the photo and where you took it.

  • If you allowed Equilab to save photos, the photos are also saved to your phone's photo gallery (camera roll).

To add or remove photos after you've saved the training, see Edit a saved ride.

If your photos are missing

  • The photos aren't in your phone's gallery: Equilab only saves photos to the gallery if you allowed it to save photos. Allow photo access for Equilab in your phone's settings.

  • You can't use the camera in Equilab on an Android phone: the camera in Equilab needs Android 10 or later. Check your Android version in your phone's settings.

  • You can't see the photos on the map: open the training, maximize the map view and look for the camera pins.

  • The training stopped after you took a photo: you may have used your phone's own camera app. Use the camera in Equilab next time, and see My ride stopped recording or was cut short.

If nothing helped, contact support and include the date and time of the training and a screenshot.
