Who can see your rides, profile and horses

What friends, other riders and group members can see in Equilab, and how to make a training private.

Here's who can see your profile, trainings, horses and group activity in Equilab, and how to hide a training from your friends. It's the same on the free plan and Premium, and on iPhone and Android.

What other riders can see

This table shows who can see each part of your Equilab account.

What

Who can see it

Your profile: your name, number of friends, total number of trainings, your horses and your groups

Every Equilab user, so your friends can find you. There's no setting to make your profile private.

Your trainings: the map, speeds, gaits and notes

Your friends, in the feed on the Home tab and on your Profile, where they can like and comment. The Team of a shared horse (its owner and co-riders) also sees your trainings on that horse. Trainings you mark Private are hidden from your friends, but the horse's Team still sees Private trainings on that horse in the Calendar, including co-riders who are also your friends.

Horse details: name, picture, birth year (not the full birth date), gender, breed, discipline, the group the horse is shared in, and the horse's Team: its co-riders and its owner, marked with a crown in the Team list

Every Equilab user, for the details you fill in.

Horse calendar and documents: vet and farrier appointments, notes, rest days, trainings and documents

Only the people on the horse's Team. Until you share the horse, only you.

Your groups

Every Equilab user can see which groups you're in. Group members see the member list and who owns the group.

Group posts, chat messages and photos

Only the members of that group.

Trails you create

Depends on whether the trail is public or private. See Public and private trails, and the trail map on our website.

To add or remove friends, see Add or remove friends. To share a horse's calendar with the people who ride it, see Share a horse with co-riders (Horse Team).

A group or stable set to Private doesn't show in search, and riders can only join it with an invitation link. See Find and join a group or stable.

Make a training private

A Private training is hidden from your friends. If the training is on a shared horse, the horse's Team (its owner and co-riders) still sees it in the Calendar when they filter by that horse. You can make a training Private when you save it after tracking, or later:

  1. Open the training, for example from Profile > Trainings or the Calendar tab.

  2. On the Training Summary, tap the three dots in the top-right corner.

  3. Tap Edit.

  4. Switch on Private training.

  5. Tap Save.

The training no longer shows in your friends' feed on the Home tab or on your Profile. To share it with your friends again, follow the same steps and switch Private training off.

Frequently asked questions

Here are answers to common questions about privacy in Equilab.

Can I make my Equilab profile private?

No. There's no private-profile setting. Your name, number of friends, number of trainings, your horses and your groups are visible to every Equilab user. Your trainings are only visible to your friends and to the Team of a shared horse you ride. Making a training Private hides it from your friends, but the horse's Team still sees Private trainings on that horse.

Can members of my group or stable see my trainings?

Only if they're also your friends, or on the Team of a shared horse you rode. Group members see what you post in the group: posts, chat messages and photos.

Can I block or report another Equilab user?

No. Equilab doesn't have an option to block or report a user. You don't have to accept a friend request, and you can remove a friend at any time. If another user bothers you, contact support with their Equilab name and what happened.
