Set up Equilab the way you like: choose your units, the app's language and the notifications you get. These settings are free, on iPhone and Android.
Units and notifications are in Equilab's Settings, on the Profile tab:
iPhone: tap the cog icon at the top right.
Android: tap the three dots at the top right, then Settings.
Change units
Equilab works with metric units (km, kg, °C) and imperial units (miles, lb, °F).
On the Profile tab, open Settings.
Tap Units.
Choose the unit you want for each setting.
You can set these units separately:
Distance: km or miles.
Speed: the choices depend on the distance unit you picked.
Weight: kg or lb, for your horse and equipment.
Temperature: °C or °F, for the weather shown on your trainings. Weather is free on every training.
Change the app language
Equilab uses your phone's language. Equilab is available in 12 languages: English, German, Swedish, French, Dutch, Norwegian, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Danish, Arabic and Japanese. If your phone is set to another language, Equilab shows the most similar available language.
To use Equilab in a different language than the rest of your phone, change it in your phone's settings for Equilab:
iPhone: open the iPhone's Settings app, tap Apps > Equilab > Language and choose a language.
Android: open the phone's Settings app, tap General management > Language and choose a language for Equilab. Menu names can differ by phone brand and Android version.
Then close and reopen Equilab. If you can't find a language setting for Equilab, change your phone's language instead, then close and reopen Equilab.
Choose your notifications
Equilab sends notifications for:
friend requests and likes
trainings your co-riders save on a horse you share
Safety Tracking alerts when someone who has you as a Safety Contact starts or stops riding, or stops moving during a training
your monthly training summary
calendar reminders
Apple Watch trainings that have uploaded
To choose your notifications:
On the Profile tab, open Settings.
Tap Reminders and Notifications (iPhone) or Notifications (Android).
Turn on the notifications you want. Safety Tracking alerts and monthly training summaries only reach you with notifications on.
Allow notifications for Equilab in your phone's settings too. iPhone: Settings > Notifications > Equilab. Android: Settings > Notifications > App notifications > Equilab.
Notifications show on your phone and under the bell icon on the Home tab.
If notifications don't arrive
Check that notifications are on in both places: in Equilab's Reminders and Notifications (iPhone) or Notifications (Android), and in your phone's settings for Equilab. If you're a Safety Contact and don't get alerts, see My Safety Contact doesn't get alerts.
