Completing a Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) is a daily requirement for drivers who have driven for the day. This is also a way for drivers to provide information about repairs or maintenance that is required for their vehicle or trailer. It can be done from the E-Logs app with a few clicks to make sure you stay safe on the road!

  • Log into the E-Logs app.

  • Select Form, Sign, DVIR on the main page of the E-Logs app and then the DVIR tab.

  • Select the Create New DVIR button.

  • Select Pre-Trip, Post-Trip, Incident, or General to identify your DVIR.

  • Continue by clicking Next, and the app will guide you through the DVIR process. You'll select the vehicle or trailer for submitting the DVIR.

    • Note: If you are submitting a DVIR for a trailer only, you'll need to unselect any vehicle for which you are paired.

  • Select Report Defects or No Defects to continue the process.

    • For defects, select from the vast list of defect items. The list has been improved to provide drivers with exactly what they need to record their DVIR accurately. Select Next to continue.

  • The defects you've added to the DVIR will display. Expand each one to define the severity (Hard Down or Soft Down), create Notes, and add photos. Complete these steps for each defect noted.

    • Note: If the driver is required to submit Notes and Photos as indicated in the Settings in the E-Logs browser app in T3, a message will display prompting the user before proceeding.

  • Once all defects have been reported, OR if you had No Reported Defects, the last DVIR step is to sign.

    • Note: If the driver is required to review & accept the list of defects prior to completion as indicated in the Settings in the E-Logs browser app in T3, the Save button will be disabled until the View Vehicle Defects link is selected.

  • Check the boxes confirming the legal information and scribble your signature on the screen and click Accept.

  • Once you are done, click Save.

    • If a defect was included in the DVIR, a Work Order will automatically be created if the company's Manager or Owner has enabled the Create a Work Order from a Defect setting in T3.
