In this article, we will give you a video guide and talk you through how to score candidates in Equitas using a best practice approach focusing on the content that candidates provide.

Our software helps you capture audio and transcription data so that you can make evidence-based decisions when scoring and evaluating candidates.

There are 4 simple steps for assessing candidates. Once you have completed an interview you will be directed to the scoring page for that candidate.

Video Guide to Scoring and Feedback

Written Walkthrough to Scoring and Feedback

1. Use the interview data when scoring

After you have completed an interview it will take a few minutes for the audio and transcription to pull through. Once they are ready you will see a blue play button on the right for the audio and a blue "View Transcription" button on the left for each question.

Review the transcription and audio evidence to help you score each question, linking what they have said to the key scoring criteria. It should separate out the different speakers into different colours.

2. Score the positive and negative indicators for each question

Some companies will only have a few positive and negative scoring indicators for each question when they start using Equitas but this usually grows over time. Having detailed indicators can be an amazing way to differentiate between candidates and ensure accurate scoring from interviewers.

To score an indicator just click on the radio button between 1 and 5. Repeat this for each indicator.

While doing this you will see the total score for each question is shown on the right-hand side and is the average of all the indicators you score.

Once you are happy with your score hit the blue "Save Score" button at the bottom of each question.

If you would like to change your scores don't forget to click on the blue "Update Score" button. Simply edit the positive and negative indicators you wish to change then click "Update Score".

3. Autogenerated feedback

When you score a candidate autogenerated feedback will be generated but you can tailor it to your preference. You also have the option to add internal notes from the interview that won't be sent to the candidate.

NOTE: You only get one pass at your autogenerated feedback, if you decide to edit or amend scores once it has been saved you will need to go in and manually make any changes you would like to the candidate feedback.

REMEMBER: To save each score for each and every question before you complete the interview scoring. Once you have completed the scoring for the candidate, you can hit the blue "Complete Interview" button at the very bottom of the page and return to the interview homepage.
