Custom domains allow you to send emails from your own domain (e.g., yourcompanyname.com) instead of the default system domain. This helps maintain brand consistency and improves deliverability. Read further to learn how to set it up!
Configuring Privileges
Go to the User Roles section in the Settings menu. Select User Roles and Permissions.
Identify the User Role you wish to update and locate the System Setup option for Custom Domain. Enable or disable the option based on your requirements.
Confirm and Save your updated user role permissions.
Add a Domain
Head to System Setup > Communication Service > Domains and click Add Domain to get started.
You'll see the New Domain screen:
Key Details
Domain Name
Enter the domain you want to use for sending emails (e.g., yourcompany.com). Make sure you own this domain.
Email Display Name
The Email Display Name is the name that recipients will see when they receive an email from your company. It helps ensure that your emails are easily recognizable and aligned with your brand identity. By default, the display name will be set to the company name you provided during your subscription setup. You can change the display name here. By default, the system creates a “Do Not Reply” address.
Note: Once you confirm the display name, it cannot be changed again. Please review carefully before saving.
Verification Records
Once you add the domain, the system will generate DNS records (TXT and CNAME) that you need to add to your domain provider’s DNS settings. These records verify ownership and enable email sending.
Steps to Verify Your Domain
Copy the DNS records displayed on the screen.
Log in to your domain provider.
Add the provided TXT and CNAME records to your DNS settings.
Return to the system and click Verify.
The system will check if the records are correctly added. Once verified, your domain will show as Active.
Assign Domain to a Company
After verification, you can link the domain to one or more companies in your subscription. This ensures emails sent from those companies use the custom domain.
Important Notes
You’ll need someone with IT or DNS knowledge to complete the setup.
Until verification is complete, emails will continue to use the default system domain.
Want to disconnect or reconnect a domain?
You can disconnect a domain anytime. It will remain available for future use and can be reconnected easily.
