Using Auto Numbering, ERP Go can assign account numbers when creating new products.
To use Auto Numbering, you will need to enable the "Auto Number" privilege for your role. Once the privilege is enabled, you will be able to enable Auto Numbering within System Settings.
Then once that's done you'll see the Auto Number setting in System Setup.
Here you can then configure the settings around auto numbering based on your preference.
Global - This configuration allows you to choose an incrementing number that will be applied system wide when creating a product. There are additional options to specify a Prefix and Separator to the Product Number generated along with a Number Length which will apply leading zeros to any number than does not fit the length. The Next Number gives an indication of the next number based on existing product numbers in the system that conform to the same format of Prefix and Number. If the system finds no numbers that match the formating it will default to 1, but can be manually overridden allowing accounts to start at a specific number The separator will only ever be applied if a Prefix is set.
Product group - This configuation allows for a separator to be applied along with a number length and will work in a similar manner to the Global option where the Product group Code becomes the Prefix.
When creating a new product, Auto Numbering can be enabled to automatically generate a product code based on the Auto Numbering configuration.
The next available product number is suggested automatically
Auto Numbering can be switched off to allow manual entry if needed
This ensures consistent account numbering and reduces setup effort
