About
Till Reconciliation is primarily used to reconcile daily cash takings in ERP Go (where the payment method is Cash) with the physical cash in the cash drawers. Although Till Reconciliation shares the concept of End of Day with EPOS, it operates independently of EPOS. EPOS does not need to be active to use Till Reconciliation. However, if EPOS is active, EPOS End of Day should be used instead.

End of Day Process
5-Step Process:
Till Reconciliation follows a logical five-step process:
Start of Day: Cashier confirms float amount at start of day/ shift
Cash Count: Cashier confirms cash in till at end of day/ shift
Mismatch: Displays any variances which (if there are) requires a reason
Update Drawer: Confirms cash taken out of till & remaining Cash float
Summary: A 1-Page summary of steps 1 to 4
Step 1 "Start of Day"
The 1st thing cashiers will do is initiate a Start of Day before any sales.
A Start of Day entry is required to do an End of Day at the end of the day/ shift.
To create Start of Day entry, cashiers will navigate to Sales -> Till Reconciliation and click on Add Start of Day:
Here cashier will be required to select the Till they'll be working on for the day/ shift, select their Name from the User dropdown (which is recommended as then Till will be pre selected for new orders), confirm the trading date & type in the cash float which they will confirm by ticking checkbox "I declare the cash float to be as specified at the start of day" and finally, click on Create Start of Day button.
Note on Cash Float Defaults. Should default float amounts have been specified when setting up tills in Company Settings (Maintenance Data -> Tills), then float amount will default to that. |
At the end of the day/ shift, cashiers will begin End of Day by clicking on the ellipses and selecting View or by clicking on Start of Day entry:
Here cashier will be able to see the start of day entry created at the start of day.
To resume Cash-Up click on Begin End of Day:
Step 2 "Cash Count"
Next, cashier will be required to enter Cash in Till (that includes float amount) followed by clicking on Continue. Clicking on the Cash Breakdown dropdown will allow cashiers to populate Cash in Till field by counting denominations i.e. 2 x R200 notes, 2 x R100 notes etc.
Step 3 "Mismatch"
System will compare the entered cash value to the sales of the day for said till where cash was taken. Should there be any variances then a reason will need to be specified.
No Variance:
Variance:
If a user does not have “Can Approve Till Reconciliation EOD” access, the process will exit and the user will be returned to the List view of the Open Tills.
Step 4 "Update Drawer"
Next, cashier will confirm the amount they'll be removing or adding from cashdrawer where the difference will be the starting float for next day/ shift following by clicking on Confirm:
Step 5 "Summary"
Finally, the last step would be to click on Complete End of Day which summarizes Cash-Up and Till details. From a documentation point of view, a Till Reconciliation Cash-Up report can also be printed from Documents:
Cash-Up Statuses
The Till Reconciliation screen also doubles up as a Cash-up dashboard whereby managers can track the cash-up status for Tills.
Statuses
Open | Start of Day was initiated at start of day (before any sales) & float declaration completed. |
End of Day | Cash-up was resumed after sales; Cash-Up still in progress. |
