You can create a product in Eshopbox individually or use the CSV template to import in bulk. This article is a step-by-step guide to creating products in Eshopbox.

Creating product individually

Navigate to the sidebar and select Inventory > All Product > Create > Product.

Identify the product

  • Enter the SKU (Stock Keeping Unit), a unique identifier for the product. It should be scannable and available on the packaging label. This helps Eshopbox to search and identify the product easily.

You can add multiple aliases (product identifiers) for a product. For example, if your product has multiple identifiers such as EAN, GTIN, UPC, or any other, you can add them by clicking on +Add Aliases.

Note: Every alias should be unique for each product. You cannot add the same aliases for two different products.

  • Enter the Product Group Code. It is useful when you have multiple product variants and want to group them together. For example, a shirt has two sizes, medium and large. You can group these two using the same product group code.

  • Click continue.

Describe the product

  • Next, select the Brand from the dropdown. Make sure the brand is active for which you want to create the product.

  • Select the closest matching Vertical.

  • Enter a short *Title (100 characters maximum) to describe the product.

  • Add an *Image link for the product. This image will be used to identify the product at the Eshopbox fulfillment center.

  • Define the product type by selecting an appropriate option from the dropdown in My product is.

    • Fragile

    • Dangerous

    • Liquid

    • A battery or contains on

    • Media

    • Pre-packaged and ready to ship product.

    • requires serial number (e.g. IMEI)

    • is enabled for batch tracking: If you click on enable batch tracking, you need to provide any one of the three attributes:

    1. manufacturing date: if this attribute is selected, you need to provide the shelf life of the product

    2. expiry date: if this attribute is selected, you need to provide the threshold period of the product

    3. batch code

Learn more about batch tracking here.

💡Note: Please note the attribute selected should be mentioned on the product or the product label.

  • Click continue.

Eshopbox generates an Eshopbox Serial Identification Number (ESIN) at this step. It is a unique identifier for the product and is non-editable.

Configure the product

  • Enter the *Maximum Retail Price (MRP) of the product. This is required for quality checks and discount calculations.

  • Enter the *Unit Price of the product. It is the cost price of the product.

  • Enter the Harmonized System of Nomenclature (HSN) Code of the product. It is required to be mentioned in the invoice.

  • Enter the *Tax Code of the product. It is required to calculate the tax amount when the product is invoiced.

  • Enter the *Weight of the product. Make sure the value is in g. It is required to calculate storage as well as shipping charges.

  • Enter the *Dimensions (length X width X height). Make sure the value is in cm. It is required to calculate storage as well as shipping charges.

  • Next, click on the check box to acknowledge that you have provided the correct information.

  • Click continue.

    Note:

All attributes marked with an asterisk '*' are mandatory attributes and you cannot skip them while creating a product.

You can add more details to your product by using custom fields. Custom fields can store information unique to your business.

Import products in bulk

You can import products in bulk using the product template. The product template is a CSV (comma-separated value).

  • Navigate to Inventory >Import >Create new or update existing products.

  • Select Product.

  • Download the product template from the workspace. Enter the SKU and any other details that you want to update and save it as a CSV file. For instance, if you want to edit the M.R.P., you need to enter the SKU to identify the product and the new M.R.P. details. Learn how to prepare the product template.

  • Upload the CSV and click submit. Once the CSV is imported successfully, you will be able to view the products in your workspace.

Note: Any changes made using the CSV usually take some time to reflect in the workspace. You need to refresh to view the changes.

Editing products individually

You can easily edit your products in Eshopbox.

  • Navigate to the sidebar and select Inventory >All products

  • Choose the product you wish to edit and click on Actions >Edit

Note: You can edit all product attributes except for the ESIN.
