We are here to help you while you support your kids eSparking at home!

Here are some common questions grown-ups at home have about eSpark:

Q: What is eSpark?

A: eSpark is an online program for students in grades K-5 that provides math and reading instruction and practice using videos, games, and quizzes.

Q: What’s it designed to do?

A: eSpark is designed to accelerate student growth at any level. It’s differentiated and standards-aligned. Students start off with a brief placement quiz which they can finish during their first session.

Q: How often should my student log into eSpark?

A: While students aren’t in school we recommend that they log into eSpark each day for 30 minutes for math and 30 minutes for reading.

Q: Should I help my student with eSpark?

A: eSpark is designed to help your child learn independently at their unique level. eSpark uses quizzes to adjust your child’s level. For this reason, please do not help your child with these quizzes but encourage them to do their best.

Q: How can I celebrate my student’s success on eSpark?

A: We recommend checking in with your student to see how they’re doing on eSpark. Celebrating high fives can be a fun way to keep kids motivated to do their best. You can find printable high five certificates and other fun resources here!

Q: How can I track my student’s progress on eSpark?

A: Your child’s teacher can monitor your student’s progress on eSpark. If you have questions about how your child is progressing, please reach out to their teacher.

Q: We're having a problem. What should we do?

A: If you are on an iPad:

  • Check what iOS the iPad is running on. You can find this information by going to Settings>General>About>Version. iPads used for eSpark should run on iOS 12 or later in order for eSpark to work properly. Unfortunately iPads running on iOS 11 or older often do encounter errors.

  • If your child has the eSpark app on the home screen of their iPad, delete it. All students should now log in at espark.app on the web browser.

If you are on a Chromebook or laptop:

  • Check the browser. We recommend logging in using Chrome. Browsers like Internet Explorer often encounter errors.

If you are on an Android device, a phone, or other tablet:

  • If possible, consider logging on using a different device including an iPad, Chromebook, or laptop. eSpark works best on these devices.

Any device:

  • Do you have parental controls or browsing restrictions turned on? This could be blocking students from accessing content on eSpark.

  • Once students have completed an activity, they will need to rate it with a thumbs up or thumbs down to continue. Please ensure they complete this step.

Q: I have another question that wasn't answered here. How do I contact eSpark?

A: If you have any questions, please use the blue Intercom chat button on the bottom right side of the screen to send us a message! We'll get back to you ASAP!
