What is the writing view? Think of a writing view as the word processor where students actually compose their writing. Traditionally, essaypop featured only the classic framed view which is the most basic writing area we offer (it also happens to still be the most popular), but now we offer two more views.

Why do we offer multiple writing views? We’ve learned that some students like a more traditional document writing experience and that others prefer a more focused, and zoomed-in view. Essaypop offers something for everybody, and students can jump from view to view as they write while always retaining what they composed in a previous view.

This is done in the header area of the writing area. Simply click the switch icon to change views:

If you’re an essaypop veteran, then you are familiar with this writing view. The frame view smartly segments the component elements of the paragraph or essay into accessible, color-coded frames. This is the most commonly-used writing view and is popular for good reason. Notice also that essaypop now has an intuitive formatting palette and works seamlessly with Grammarly for writers who need a little help with spelling and grammar.

The Doc View closely simulates a traditional Google or Word doc experience. Students are still working within the templates and frames set up by the teacher, but the experience is subtle and familiar. Proficient writers and older students tend to prefer this view.

The Focused View allows students to eliminate all distractions and immerse themselves in one element at a time. Younger students, English Language Learners, special needs students, and those who are easily distracted tend to benefit from this view. Not only is this writing view focused, the actual font size is quite a bit larger.

So encourage your studentsto feel free to choose the writing view that best suits them. hey're going to appreciate having the different options.
