How to Use the Share Feature in Essential ERM

Share risks and related items with teammates using email notifications and direct links from within the platform.

What You Can Share

You can share the following items directly from their details pages:

  • Risks

  • Causes

  • Mitigations

  • Consequences

  • Actions

  • Objectives

How to Share a Resource

1. Open the Details Page

Click on the risk or item you want to share to open its details screen.

2. Click the “Share” Button

Located at the top-right of the page.

3. Select Recipients

Search and select one or more team members to share with.

4. Add an Optional Message

Use the message box to include helpful context or instructions.

5. Send the Notification

Click “Share” to send an email with a direct link to the item.

What the Recipient Will Receive

Recipients will get an email that includes:

  • The name of the shared item

  • A link to view it in Essential ERM

  • Your custom message, if included

Q: Who can I share items with?

Anyone in your organization who has access to Essential ERM.

Q: What happens after I share?

The recipient can click the link to view the full details and take action if needed.

Q: Can I share more than just risks?

Yes — you can also share causes, mitigations, consequences, actions, and objectives.

Q: Will recipients be notified immediately?

Yes — an email is sent as soon as you click “Share”.
