Creating and Editing Strategic Categories or Objectives in the Objectives & Risks Console

Use the Strategy tab to create Strategic Categories and Objectives and link them to risks for better alignment and prioritization.

Accessing the Objectives & Risks Console

  • Click the “Strategy” tab in the top menu bar.

  • This screen allows Standard and Admin Users to:

    • Create Strategic Categories and Objectives

    • Link Risks to Strategic Objectives

    • Click on any Risk name to open its Risk Details screen

Linking Objectives to Risks is a foundational best practice in ISO 31000 Enterprise Risk Management standards.

a. Creating and Editing Strategic Categories (Strategy Pillars)

  1. On an empty screen, click “add strategic category”.

  2. Type a name and click the checkmark to save it.

  • Maximum length: 60 characters

  • A character counter appears while typing

  • Categories are displayed vertically in alpha-numerical order

Tip: Use numbers or letters (e.g., “1. Finance”, “2. HR”) to control display order.

b. Creating and Editing Objectives

  1. After creating a category, click “add objective”.

  2. Enter the Objective name and click the checkmark to save.

  • Max length: 255 characters
    (Text beyond this limit will be cut off)

  • Additional details may be added if using the Essential Strategy Module

Once the first Objective is created, the blue link disappears. To add more:

  • Click the menu button (gray bar)

  • Select “Add Objective”

Objectives are displayed vertically and ordered alpha-numerically.

To edit or delete an objective:

  • Click the objective name

  • Use the edit field or click the gray trash can to delete
