How to Respond to Action Plans in Essential ERM

Action Plan Owners receive email links to update status and add notes without needing to log in.

How Email Notifications Work

  • All Action Plan Owners receive an email from:
    notifications@essentialerm.com

  • The email includes a secure link to update the status of the action plan.

  • The link can be clicked multiple times until it expires.

Updating an Action Plan

  1. Click the link in the email

  2. A browser window will open to the update screen

  3. You can:

    • Update the action status (e.g. In Progress, Complete)

    • Add a note (optional but recommended)

Viewing Action Plan Notes

  • Any notes submitted through the email link are saved in the Notes section of the Action Plan

  • Notes can also be viewed by logging into Essential ERM and opening the relevant Action Plan

What Happens After an Update?

  • Once status is updated, no further action is required

  • All changes are automatically saved to the system’s change log
