What is a Power User?

Power Users in Essential ERM are advanced users with more capabilities than standard users, but fewer than full administrators. This role is ideal for delegating responsibility across departments without granting full system access.

Key Capabilities of Power Users

Power Users can:

  • Create and manage their own votes
They can only access votes where they are assigned as vote manager.

  • Create and manage their own risk assessments
Access is limited to assessments where they are the assigned assessment manager.

  • Create and manage user groups
Power Users can only manage users within groups they are assigned to manage.

  • Create and manage assigned portfolios
They cannot view or manage portfolios outside of their assignment.

  • Generate export/download files
Only for the portfolios they have access to.

Access Limits

Power Users can only view and manage content that they are directly assigned to—this includes:

  • Specific portfolios

  • Risk votes

  • Risk assessments

  • User groups

They do not have access to system-wide configurations or settings.

How to Enable the Power User Role

Admins can enable Power User permissions in:

Admin → Users and Permissions → Manage Permissions tab

Here, you’ll find all the new permissions related to Power Users.

Note: Permissions are off by default. Admins must turn them on manually.
