What Are Portfolios?

Portfolios are used in Essential ERM to:

  • Organize records (e.g., by department or function)

  • Filter dashboards and reports

  • Restrict user access to specific data sets

For example, a “Council” portfolio could hold risks and records specific to that department, and users assigned only to that portfolio will see only that data when logged in.

What’s New in Portfolio Management?

The updated Portfolio Management screen improves how admins view and manage portfolios:

  • Located under Admin → Portfolios and Roll-Up Groups

  • All portfolios are shown in a scrollable list on the left

  • Selecting a portfolio shows its details on the right

New features include:

Portfolio Search

  • Quickly find a specific portfolio from the list

View and Edit User Access

  • See which users or user groups have access

  • Add or remove users directly in the panel

🛈 If access is granted through a User Group, those users will also be listed (with user groups explained in another article)

View Linked Risks

  • See how many risks are tied to a portfolio

  • Click the link to filter the Risk Console to just those records

Multi-Portfolio Filtering (New!)

You can now filter by multiple portfolios at once in the Risk Console:

  1. Open the filter menu

  2. Select several portfolios using the new multi-select feature

Apply the filter to view combined data across those portfolios
