Why Do Invitations Expire?
When a new user is added to Essential ERM, they receive an invitation email with a link to set their password and complete registration.
To protect user security, this link expires after 4 days.
If the link is clicked after it has expired, the user will see an error message.
This message also appears for expired password reset links—because the system treats both scenarios the same way.
How to Reset an Expired Invitation
If you see an error message due to an expired invitation link:
Click the blue “here” link in the error message.
This opens the password reset page.
Even if you never set a password, this will still work.
If you've closed the error page:
Visit the Essential ERM login page.
Enter your email and click Next.
Click “Forgot Password”.
Enter your email again and click Recover Password.
What Happens Next?
You will receive a new email with a fresh password reset link.
Use the link to set your new password.
This new password will now be your login password.
The password reset link expires after 1 hour, so complete the process as soon as you receive the email.
After Resetting
Once you've set your password:
Go back to the login page
Enter your email and new password to access the platform.
First-time login steps are explained in our First-Time Registration guide.
