Configuring the Risk Details Screen

Admin users can configure the new Risk Details screen (available across all new detail screens in Essential ERM) by clicking the ellipsis menu (three dots) in the top-right section and selecting Configure. This opens a pop-up where you can:

  • Toggle visibility of each subsection (e.g., Bow Tie, Action Plans, Sub-Risks).

  • Set default state for each section (expanded or collapsed).

  • Reorder subsections using drag-and-drop functionality.

Note: Changes apply to all risks of the selected type and may not take full effect until the user logs out and back in.

Use this feature to:

  • Simplify screens for end users.

  • Focus attention on key elements based on your workflow.

  • Improve user adoption by hiding unused sections.

Risk Types Overview

Risk Types allow you to apply different screen configurations for different categories of risk.

Available Risk Types:

  • Enterprise (default)

  • Operational

Risk types enable:

  • Custom screen layouts based on workflows.

  • More targeted user experiences (e.g., Operational Risks can focus on control assessments instead of Bow Ties).

Assigning Risk Types

  • Risk Types are assigned at the Portfolio level.

  • All risks within a portfolio will inherit its risk type.

You can set a portfolio’s risk type in the Admin > Portfolios section. Risks added or reassigned to a portfolio will automatically inherit the associated risk type.

Examples:

  • A risk saved to an Enterprise portfolio will use the Enterprise risk screen layout.

  • A risk moved to a Trading Operations portfolio (set to Operational type) will automatically update to display the Operational screen configuration.

Live Example

  1. Open a risk in the Risk Console.

  2. Use the ellipsis menu to configure the screen.

  3. Reorder or toggle visibility of sections (e.g., move Objectives to the top).

  4. Save changes — the screen updates immediately.

  5. Changes apply to all risks of that type.

If you move a risk to a different portfolio with a different type, its layout updates to match the new type's configuration.

Final Notes

  • Regular users cannot change screen configurations but can trigger layout changes by selecting a different portfolio.

  • Admins can preview how each risk type looks and adjust layouts accordingly.

  • Future risk types may be added. Share your needs with Tracker Networks if you require additional types.
