Overview
AI Risk Summary appears on the Risk Details screen and generates a short briefing about a risk. It highlights:
Current status and key concerns
Controls and mitigation effectiveness
Outstanding actions and items needing attention
An overall assessment written in the tone of a risk manager briefing leadership
This helps risk owners and managers get a quick read without opening every section.
Note: This feature is marked BETA while we gather feedback.
Where to find it
Open any Risk
Go to Risk Details
In the left column, find AI Risk Summary (near sections like Additional Information, Bow Tie, and Indicators)
Expand/collapse it like other sections
How it works
If there’s no summary yet
The AI Risk Summary section is collapsed by default
You’ll see a Summarize button in the section header
To generate a summary:
Click Summarize
The section opens and generation starts
The button shows “Summarizing…” while the AI runs (may take a few seconds)
When done:
The summary appears in the section
The Summarize button is removed
Important: Summaries are only created when you click Summarize. They are not generated automatically when you open a risk.
If a summary already exists
If the risk already has a summary, you’ll see:
Summary text (usually bullet points)
Last updated date/time
An Update button
To refresh it:
Click Update to regenerate the summary
The new version replaces the old one and Last updated changes
What’s included in the summary
Summaries typically cover:
Current risk status and concerns (e.g., overdue actions, alerts)
Control and mitigation effectiveness
Items needing attention (e.g., missing owners, stale assessments)
Overall posture with a short assessment and recommendation
The tone is designed to read like a risk manager briefing a superior (not raw data).
Things to know
AI-generated: Results may be inaccurate or incomplete. Use your judgment and refer to the underlying risk data for decisions.
Cached: Summaries are stored. You’ll see the last generated version until you click Update (or the system marks it stale).
User-triggered: Summaries generate only when you click Summarize or Update—nothing runs in the background.
Temporary issues: If the AI service is busy, you may see:
“The AI service is temporarily busy. Please try again in a moment.”
Try Summarize or Update again later.

Who can use it
Access follows the same permissions as the Risk Details screen. If you can open a risk and view the left-column sections, you can use AI Risk Summary for that risk (including Summarize and Update).
Feedback and support
This feature is in BETA. If the summary is wrong, missing important points, or unclear, share feedback with your administrator or through your usual support channel so we can improve the prompts and experience.
