Frameworks

Frameworks represent the regulations, laws, standards, or contractual requirements your organization must comply with. They are the top-level grouping mechanism for your compliance program.

Creating and Managing Frameworks

Frameworks are created and managed by Admin users through the Obligations Console:

  1. Navigate to Obligations in the compliance menu

  2. Click the ellipsis menu (⋯) next to the "Create Obligation" button

  3. Select Manage Frameworks

Each framework requires:

  • Name — The full name of the regulation or standard

  • Framework Code — A mandatory short abbreviation (e.g., "AML", "SOC2") displayed as a badge throughout the system

  • Colour — For visual identification in the console

Key Rules

  • An obligation can belong to only one framework (1:n relationship)

  • A policy or control can be associated with multiple frameworks (n:n relationship)

  • Frameworks cannot be deleted if they still have obligations attached to them — you must first delete or move the obligations, or use the Merge function to combine frameworks

  • Framework management (create, edit, delete, merge) is restricted to Admin users
