Introducing our regular Ardex Newsletter!
We're excited to share with you our first edition of our new Ardex Newsletter! This regular newsletter will feature an update from our CEO, highlighting our upcoming new releases and product updates, recent incidents and tips & tricks to streamline your business.
CEO update
It is now slightly over 4 months since my appointment as Chief Executive Officer of Ardex Technology.
During that time the team and I have focused on delivering support excellence, stabilizing our flagship services, visiting key clients and readying ourselves for the launch of our new cloud platform - EPONA
As outlined further in this newsletter, Ardex has released new features, upcoming mobile upgrades and addressed incidents to our flagship services, Premier and Essentials.
We are continuously striving for service excellence and have invested in a new telephony system. 2025 will see Ardex moving to a new service platform that will enable us to be even more responsive for support enquiries.
Listening to our clients' needs is vital for the ongoing and future development of our services – our products must address real life scenarios. To that end Ben Cooper, sales manager and I travelled to New Zealand and met with several clients, NZ industry representatives and provided our support for the return of racing to Te Aroha.
We expect to return to NZ early Autumn 2025 to continue our work with key clients, partners and industry bodies.
In the interim, as always Ardex Technology will be powering Australia’s leading yearling sales, namely Magic Millions in January and Inglis in February. If you are attending, please stop by and say hi as I will be present at both.
As per my previous communiques we are in the final stages of releasing our new cloud platform, EPONA for health care providers (farriers, dentists, chiropractors), ready late January 2025. Stay tuned as we release further instances of EPONA for other specialist users within the thoroughbred ecosystem.
Lastly, from the Ardex team and I we wish you and your family a festive and safe holiday season and a prosperous start to 2025. Should you need to reach us we will be open for the rest of the year, operating with skeleton staff.
Warm regards,
Ferdi Chavez

Month End Improvements – including the ability to undo discounts and interest within the month end.
Statements – Under Finance/Statement/View all - A user can now see the date and time each statement was emailed in one place.
Communications – Horse’s sex appended to name for all comms
All People View – Column added so the role added to a person record can be seen.
Stud Book Return – The report can now be generated for a season or for a date period within the season.
The improvement process is ongoing, and we continue to monitor Support calls to ensure we are focusing on changes that will improve the experience for everyone.
Online payments
We’ve made a highly requested enhancement to our online payments screen for both Premier and Essentials!
Clients can now pay interim invoices before the month-end statement is issued. Even if their balance is nil, they can still make payments for any interim invoices directly through the integrated website.
If you’re using one of our products but haven’t yet integrated a payment system, contact our team to explore your options and get set up today.

Tips & tricks
Advanced search and export in premier
Some Ardex Premier users may not be aware of what can be achieved via the ‘Advanced Search’ button in the ‘People & Firms’ screen. Search and export features available via this screen are quite powerful and include wildcard search capabilities on many person record data fields.
For example, if you entered part of an email domain to the ‘Email’ box in the advanced search screen and surrounded this with * wildcard indicators (e.g. *gmail* or *inglis*) this will bring up all person records with an email address entered which contains this text.
Search results returned on screen can be filtered, sorted and exported. The example below is a demonstration database, so lots of client records have an ‘ardex.com.au’ email address set against them.
Please feel free to contact our friendly software support team for help with this, or if you have any other questions.
Horse verification to stud book
When entering new horses to your Ardex database it’s always a good idea to run horse verification against a stud book database. This ensures horse details such as Sire, Dam, Date of Birth, Colour, Brandings, Microchip Number and other important information is input quickly and accurately.
Running horse verification also guards against the same horse being entered to your database more than once. You can verify by the horse name, or by the Dam (search all foals of a mare). Enter either of these values then press a FUNCTION key at the top of your keyboard to run verification.
F5 will search the Australian Stud Book database
F8 will search an International horse database
F10 will search the New Zealand Stud Book database
A horse may appear in more than one of these databases. Keeping horses in your database verified also facilitates microchip scanning via the Ardex Mobile app and facilitates data sharing with other Ardex users (e.g. statement import with horse matching).
Please contact Ardex Support if you have any further questions about horse verification.
