How do I delete a horse category?

Delete horse categories from the drop down menu

  1. Click on the gear in the top right hand corner 

  2. Click on Settings 

  3. Go to Horse Categories 

  4. Hover your mouse over the row you would like to remove and click on the gear 

  5. Click delete

The horse categories listed by default relate to horse breeding functions in Ardex, and changing these categories can create difficulties when recording breeding procedures and events.

In some cases, businesses do edit horse categories for various reasons. There is no harm in this, so long as the user understands that for the system to treat a Mare as a ‘In Foal’ for breeding, it needs to be set to category ‘Home In Foal’ or ‘Visiting In Foal’, not some other new category like ‘Mare (In Foal) Auction Prep’.
