Suppliers sometimes issue a credit to a customer, which reduces the customer’s account balance due for payment. Supplier credit notes usually relate to refunds and discounts given or billing errors.

  1. Go to Finance

  2. Click on adjustments

  3. Click "Add new adjustment

  4. Enter the date of supplier issued a credit to you

  5. Change the type to "Supplier CR"

  6. Select the Supplier

  7. Debit code will default to "trade creditors". Defaults to “Trade Creditors”. Only change this to “Creditors Loan Account” if you have no unpaid supplier invoice to apply the credit against.

  8. Select the credit code. This should be the same account the original supplier expense was charged to.

  9. Enter the amount including GST

  10. Enter the reason

  11. Apply the amount to any supplier invoices that the credit note relates to.

  12. Click add adjustment
