Once you are satisfied that GST tax is correctly recorded on all transactions in your 

  1. Select your GST accounting method - accrual or cash. If you look at the first page of your BAS the tax office actually tells you which accounting method has been assigned to your business. For more information on GST accounting methods please contact your accountant. If you are reporting GST on a Cash basis please see our Preparing BAS – Cash Basis support note for further advice.

  2. Enter the start and end dates for the GST reporting period, for example 1 Jan to 31 March 2013.

  3. Once you are satisfied that the correct accounting method, date range and business have been selected, click the update and step 2 will appear

  4. The Total Sales, GST on Sales and GST on purchases will be automatically populated from activity entered in Ardex.

  5. Enter the PAYG withholding value

  6. Enter the PAYG installment

  7. Enter any credits from PAYB income tax installment variation 

  8.  Click on update to move to step 3

  9. This will provide an overview of the activity statement. When you are happy with the content, click save values and view BAS 

  10. The Business Activity Statement Report which prints can now be used to complete your BAS and then filed with other reports produced in relation to BAS lodgement.
