In Ardex Essentials all customers have the ability to record a service against a mare and generate a due date that will eventially lead to a foal.

In order to be able to do this you will need to make sure you have both the Mare and the Stallion in your system.

Adding a Service

  • Navigate to the Horse profile of the mare that has been served and then go to the Service Details tab

  • Click Add service

  • Select the Stallion Name

  • Select the Season of the service

  • Select the Service Date

  • Click Add Service

  • You will now have successfully created a service record

Generating a Due Date

**Important Note. There are only two procedures that will generate a due date. By default these will be named Pregnancy Test Positive and Final Scan Positive - Last Season. It is important to know the differences between these two procedures as they are not interchangeable. For any mare served in the current season (in this example 2020) you will need to select Pregnancy Test Positive. For any mare served last season (in this example 2019) you will need to select Final Scan Positive - Last Season.

  • On the same screen go to Procedures

  • Click on Create procedure

  • Select the Procedure Date

  • Select the correct Procedure** (see above)

  • Click Next

  • Fill out any comments or other details on the next screen if needed

  • Click Add procedure

  • Once done, the procedure screen should look like below

  • Go to Service Details

  • You can now see that the service record has been updated to provide an estimated Due Date

  • You have now successfully generated a Due Date for a Mare

For more detailed record keeping when recording services, you may want to record the first and second scan for the Mare. You can do this by adding in a scan procedure.
