A work section is the like a procedure type. It allows work items to be placed into a common group that describes what the work is. For example, under Trackwork there may be a section for Work, another for Distance and another for Track.

A work section is added via the Settings menu under Work Sections

A table will be displayed. User can

  • Add - add a new work section

  • Edit - edit an existing work section

  • Delete - delete a work section.

To add a work section Select +Add from the table menu

A modal will be displayed. Enter the name for the work section.

  • Category - can indicate what category the work section belongs to. This can be left blank

    • Drench - relates to drenching

    • Farrier - is a Farrier work section

    • Vaccination - relates to vaccinations

    • Treatment - is a treatment section

  • Work Profile - select the work profile the work section belongs to

  • Behaviour - how the work items will behave under this work section

    • Standard - most commonly used - allows multiple work items to be added

    • Comment - free form text

    • Radio - only one button can be selected

    • Role - a button will be created for every person in the database with the selected role

    • Sectional - add a sectional time

  • Modal would look like this with the different behaviours

To edit a Work Section, click on the work section in the table then select Edit. The modal will pop up so changes can be made. Select Update work section to save changes.

To delete a work section, click on the section and select Delete. You will be asked if you are sure you wish to delete this work section. Select Confirm to delete.

When a work section is deleted all attached work items will also be deleted so if you are reallocating these do it before deleting the Work section.
