Creating Your First File

This guide walks you through creating your first case in Estateably and completing the essential setup steps.

Note: All firms can schedule an onboarding session with a member of the Estateably Customer Success team to walk through creating their first file.

Step 1: Create the File

At the top of the page, select the appropriate product tab: Estate, Trust, or Power of Attorney. Then click Add new in the top-right corner to open the file creation flow.

The file creation flow guides you through five steps:

Step 2: Select the Team

  • Choose the team the file belongs to.

  • If you only belong to one team, it will be auto-selected.

Step 3: Select the Jurisdiction

  • Select your country (Canada or United States).

  • Select the applicable province, state, or territory.

Step 4: Enter File Details

Enter the basic information required for your file.

Step 5: Review & Create

  • Review all entered information before finalizing.

  • Use Previous to go back and edit any step if needed.

Click Create File to finalize and open your new file.
