The following TouchPoints are typically used within HMIS:

  • Project Descriptor Data Elements: This is a General TouchPoint used to gather the information that represents the Project within ETO. Each HUD program that exists within a site needs to have one response for the Project Descriptor Data Elements TouchPoint taken.

  • Bed and Unit Inventory Information: This is a General TouchPoint used to gather the information related to the bed and units that are available at a shelter. If a program operates a shelter, then that program will need to have a response for the Bed and Unit Inventory Information TouchPoint taken. Please review the most current HMIS Data Standards for more information on the specifications for this TouchPoint.

  • HUD Assessment: This is a Participant TouchPoint used to gather the information related to participants. Each participant who is enrolled in a HUD program will need to have a response for the HUD Assessment taken. For more information about the data entry process for HUD Assessments, please review this article.

Aside from the above TouchPoints, there are also the following specialized Participant TouchPoints:

  • Coordinated Entry Event

  • Outreach and Services Contact
