How to Replace a Sygno-Fi Device Using the Translator Menu

Replacing a Sygno-Fi Device

🛠️ Before You Start

Make sure the translator cover is removed so you can access the buttons and screen.

You’ll see the translator is in tamper mode – don’t worry, that’s expected during this process.


🧭 Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Access the Translator Menu

  • Press the Enter button on the translator.

  • The screen will prompt for a password – enter: 0001
    (Use the Up button to scroll and Enter to confirm.)


2. Navigate to Replace Device Option

  • Scroll down using the Down button and select: System Config → press Enter

  • Scroll again and select: Device Settings → press Enter

  • Then select: Replace Device → press Enter

  • When prompted for a second password, enter: 0002 using the Up button → press Enter


3. Choose the Device to Replace

  • Scroll down and select: Select by Loop Address → press Enter

  • Use the Up button to find the address of the device you’re replacing → press Enter

Once the loop address has been selected, please ensure that the unique detector reference number displayed matches the QR code on the old device.


4. Power Down the Old Device

  • Remove the batteries from the device you’re replacing.

  • On the screen, highlight Done and press Enter


5. Prepare to Link the New Device

  • Select Link by switch → press Enter

  • The translator will now begin searching for the new device.


6. Power Up & Link the New Device

  • With the new device in hand:

    • Insert the batteries

    • Look for 4 red flashes from the LED

    • Then switch the device mode from ON to 1

This links the new device to the translator.


7. Confirm and Exit

  • Once successful, a confirmation will appear on the translator screen.

  • Press the Exit button to return to the main menu.


💡 Tip: If the new device doesn’t link the first time, remove the batteries, wait 10 seconds, and try again.
