EVEN Fan FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions by Fans

Updated today

What is EVEN?

EVEN is a direct-to-fan music platform built around the relationship between artists and their fans. It gives fans early access to new releases, exclusive content, and unique experiences, while giving artists a better way to connect with their audience and earn directly from their work.

When you purchase a release on EVEN, you are not just buying music. You get early listening access, exclusive content, first access to merch and tickets, and more. It is a first-class fan experience that goes beyond anything a traditional streaming platform offers.

Is EVEN available as an app?

Yes. The EVEN app is available to download on the App Store. A few things to know:

  • Purchases must be made online at even.biz, as transactions are not processed through the app.

  • Once you have purchased a release, you can listen to it anytime through the app.

  • The app also supports CarPlay, so your music travels with you.

How do I create an account?

Creating an EVEN account is free and only takes a moment. You can sign up using your email address or phone number. Once your account is set up, you can start browsing the catalogue and purchasing releases right away.

2. Discovering and Purchasing

How does EVEN work?

EVEN makes it simple to support the artists you love and get more in return.

  1. Explore the catalogue. Browse releases from your favorite artists, including singles, albums, EPs, and exclusive content you will not find anywhere else.

  2. Purchase a release. Buy directly on the platform. Your payment goes straight to supporting the artist.

  3. Get Access. Every purchase comes with Access, a bundle of benefits tied to that release. This typically includes early listening before the release hits streaming platforms, exclusive content, and more.

  4. Enjoy your benefits. Depending on the artist, Access can include first dibs on merch, priority tour ticket booking, private events, behind-the-scenes content, community chat, and more.

Do I need an account to purchase a release?

Yes. An EVEN account is required to purchase any release. This ensures your Access is securely tied to your profile and accessible any time you log in.

How do I pay for a release?

EVEN accepts all major credit and debit cards, as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, and CashApp. EVEN currently supports 135 currencies and 22 global payment methods.

If you have questions about payment, email support@even.biz.

Can I join a waitlist for an upcoming release?

Yes. Artists can open a waitlist before a release goes on sale. Look out for the waitlist option on a release page to sign up and be notified when it becomes available.

Can I gift a release to someone?

Yes. Music is best when it is shared. The EVEN Gifting feature lets you send any release to someone special, complete with a personal message.

To gift a new release:

  1. Click Get Access on the release page.

  2. Select Give as a Gift.

  3. Add your name, the recipient's email address, and a short message, then check out.

To gift a release you already own:

  1. Go to your Library and click into the release.

  2. Select the Gift Now icon on the right-hand side.

The recipient will receive an email immediately with access to their gift.

For questions about gifting, contact support@even.biz.

Why should I buy music on EVEN instead of just streaming it?

When you buy a release on EVEN, up to 80% of your payment goes directly to the artist. Traditional streaming platforms pay on average a third of a penny per stream.

Buying on EVEN is one of the most direct ways to support the artists you care about.

Beyond the financial impact, you get early access to music before it is publicly available, exclusive content, and a closer connection to the artist's world.

3. Access and Benefits

What do I get when I purchase a release?

Every purchase on EVEN comes with what we call Access. This is a bundle of benefits specific to that release. It typically includes:

  • Early listening through the EVEN platform, often before the music is available anywhere else

  • High-quality downloads, where the artist has enabled them

  • Exclusive content such as behind-the-scenes footage, artist interviews, and alternate versions of tracks

  • First access to merch, tickets, events, and more

The full details of what is included are listed on each release page before you buy, so you always know exactly what you are getting.

What is an artist subscription?

Some artists offer a monthly subscription that gives you early access to music, behind-the-scenes content, and more before anyone else. If an artist you follow offers a subscription, you will see the option on their profile page.

What is the community chat?

Some artists enable a community chat for their releases. Where available, it is a space where fans connect directly with each other and with the artist around the music. You can share your reactions, ask questions, and be part of the conversation.

Community chat is available on releases where the artist has chosen to offer it. Check the release page to see if it is active.

4. Listening and Downloads

How do I listen to a release on EVEN?

  1. Log in to your EVEN account.

  2. Navigate to My Library.

  3. Select the release you want to listen to and press Play.

Your library contains all the releases you have purchased. You can also listen through the EVEN app, which supports CarPlay for listening on the go.

What audio quality can I expect?

Artists upload their tracks in WAV format, so what you hear on EVEN is exactly what the artist uploaded. You are listening to the music as it was intended, without compression or loss of quality.

How do I download a release?

Downloads are controlled entirely by the artist. If an artist has enabled downloads for their release, you will see a download button next to each track in your library. Simply click it to save that track to your device.

If no download button appears, the artist has not yet enabled downloads for that release. This is common during the early access window, as many artists choose to make downloads available closer to or after the official streaming release date.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • EVEN never overrides an artist's download settings.

  • Download availability may change over time. If downloads become available later, the release in your library will update automatically.

  • Each release page clearly shows whether downloads are currently enabled.

Why are download settings different across releases?

Artists and labels have full control over how their releases are distributed. Some enable downloads immediately. Others prefer to wait until the early access window closes. Some use DRM protection; others offer DRM-free files.

EVEN does not impose any download or DRM settings. Every decision is made by the creator.

A release has disappeared from my library. What should I do?

Check how you are logging in. If you created your account manually but are now signing in with a different method, your library may not appear correctly. Log out and sign back in using the same method you used when you first signed up.

If the issue persists, contact support@even.biz and our team will help resolve it.

5. Physical Orders

My order included a physical CD or merch item. When will it ship?

Physical items such as CDs, vinyl, and merchandise are fulfilled directly by the artist, their team, or their label's merchandise partner. Once your order is processed, you will receive shipping updates from them directly, including tracking information and estimated delivery times.

For questions about a physical order, contact the artist's team. They are best placed to help with any fulfillment queries.

6. Payments and Refunds

What is Stripe?

Stripe is the payment infrastructure EVEN uses to process all transactions. It is one of the most trusted payment platforms globally and meets the highest industry standards for security. Stripe enables daily payouts to artists and supports a wide range of payment methods.

Does EVEN offer refunds?

Due to the blockchain-based nature of the platform, purchases are final once a release has been added to your account.

If you completed a purchase but the release is not showing up in your library, contact support@even.biz with the release name, date and time of purchase, and any relevant transaction details. Our team will investigate and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
