Zapier is a third-party automation tool that Event Temple to thousands of other apps and moves information between them automatically with no coding necessary.

Zapier connections to apps is called a 'Zap'. Every Zap has a trigger and one or more actions. A trigger is an event that starts a Zap, and action is what your Zap does for you. When a Zap runs, each action it completes counts as one task. See Zapier's article on getting started for more details.

Some common uses for connecting Zapier are to send email inquiries from third party sites (eg The Wedding Wire, The Knot) to automatically create a Booking within Event Temple.

Information can also be sent from Event Temple into other apps, for example, an external survey or mailing list platform. You can even connect Event Temple to Event Temple to make changes within the system as other things happen in the app.

Event Temple has built many templates to help get you started, but there are endless possibilities!

Below are the fields within Event Temple that can be pulled to apps for each action. In addition to these, any Custom Fields built within Event Temple for Bookings, Contacts & Accounts can also be used.

Custom Fields

To add a Custom Field to a Zapier Action/Trigger an organization must first be chosen to bring up the available option.

Set up whatever action in the Zap you would like and ensure your Event Temple Account is created, then in order to populate custom fields you should:

  1. Choose your organization

  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the trigger/action (right hand side) and press 'Refresh Fields'

  3. The custom fields should now populate.


Important Considerations

Zapier is a separate company from Event Temple. Any questions regarding Zapier functions & billing are best directed to Zapier's support.

Connecting to Zapier can only be done by a user with an Administrator role.
