How to Delete a Contact in Event Temple

Learn how to delete a contact in Event Temple or mark it with an identifier if you don’t want to remove it. Deletion is irreversible, but identifiers can help manage duplicates without losing data.

Contacts cannot be archived in Event Temple because organizations often need past contact data for reporting, marketing, or future bookings. You can delete a contact (irreversibly), for example if it’s a duplicate.

⚠️ Important: Deletion is permanent; consider using an identifier if you want to preserve the record for reporting purposes.

If you do not wish to delete a contact, you can use an identifier in the contact name to mark it as inactive, such as:

  • DEFUNCT - John Doe

  • Old Contact - Jane Smith

  • Do Not Use - Marketing Lead


How to Delete a Contact

From the Contacts List:

  1. Select the checkbox next to the contact(s) you want to delete.

  2. Click Batch Action > Delete.

  3. Type in 'delete' to confirm.

  4. Click Delete and the Contact will be permanently deleted.

Note: You cannot delete a contact if they are the Main Contact for any Lead or Booking. Change the Main Contact first.

Alternatively:

  1. Search for the contact in the list.

  2. Click the arrow drop-down on the right.

  3. Type in 'delete' to confirm.

  4. Click Delete and the Contact will be permanently deleted.
