Why Isn't My Document Showing the Right Menu Items?

Answer:

If the Menu Item Element on your Document is blank, or it is showing the incorrect items, it is likely because you are not pulling menu items from the right source, or because you do not have it associated with the right Revenue Category.

Menu items exist at Booking, Event and/or Invoice level. You should first check that your Menu Items have a revenue category & are associated to the expected source.

All Menu Items are automatically associated to a Booking. From the Menu Item Sub-tab within the Booking Summary, you can check whether the item is also associated to an Event and/or Invoice using the appropriate columns.

Within Documents, the Menu Items element pulls from one of these sources.

  1. Booking - All Menu Items on the Booking

  2. Events - Menu Items assigned to specific Events

  3. Invoice Menu Items assigned to the linked Invoice

To change your Menu Item Source

  1. Double Click on the Menu Item Element on your BEO (or press the pencil when you hover over it)

  2. Under Menu Item Source select the appropriate source (Booking, Events or Invoice)

  3. Select the Apply

  4. Save your Document

Revenue Category

Within Documents, Revenue Categories can be used to group your Menu Items across multiple Menu Item document elements.

Menu Items may not appear if, for example, you only have Food selected in your document, and the Menu Item is associated with the Beverage category.

To change the Revenue Category your Menu Items are pulling from:

  1. Double Click on the Menu Item Element on your Document (or press the pencil when you hover over it)

  2. Click on the Revenue Category drop-down menu. 

  3. Select the appropriate Revenue Category or Revenue Categories

  4. Select the Apply

  5. Save your Document

Additional Information:

Be sure to update your Document Template, if you would like this to be a permanent change for future uses of your Document.

Menu Items added to Quotes are not associated with a Booking & therefore will not appear within a Document.
