Archiving & Deleting

Archive or Delete? This article will explain both options

Updated over a week ago

As businesses change, updates will often be made when it comes to Menu Items, Bookings, Document Templates and more. Within Event Temple it's best practice to Archive or Delete unneeded components.

Archiving Bookings specifically, such as lost or past Bookings allows you to use filters to hide them from day to day viewing.

Deleting is a permanent action and cannot be undone so we recommend to use this very carefully!

How to Archive & Delete

A large range of things can be archived & deleted in Event Temple, this includes, but is not limited to: Bookings, Menu Items, Document Templates & Taxes.

Archiving

Keep an eye out for the Archive option when viewing items within Event Temple.

One example is located under the Actions button from the Booking Summary screen.

Viewing / Hiding Archived Items

Users have the ability to add filters to show/hide Archived Items or use a checkbox to show/hide Archived Items.

Deleting

Select the trash can icon to delete items one by one. A pop up will appear to confirm the deletion.

Use the Delete option under the Actions Menu. A pop up will appear to confirm the deletion.

Batch Action Archiving & Deleting

Within some areas, there is the ability to select multiple items using a checkbox. In the example below, multiple Bookings have been selected from the Bookings List, users can then choose to batch Archive, Unarchive or Delete the selected items.

Important considerations about Archiving & Deleting

Archived items are hidden from day-to-day viewing but can still be located to view and unarchive if needed in the future.

Deleting within Event Temple is permanent, so it is recommended to use this option with caution. Once something is deleted, it cannot be recovered.
