How do I change a Parent or Child Account?

Learn how to update or correct Parent and Child Account relationships in Event Temple by removing existing associations and assigning new ones.

What you can change

You can update Account relationships by:

  • Removing an existing Parent–Child association

  • Reassigning a new Parent Account

  • Correcting an incorrectly linked Account structure


How to change a Parent or Child Account

Step 1: Open the Child Account

  • Go to Accounts in the left-hand sidebar

  • Search for and open the Child Account


Step 2: Go to Associations

  • Scroll to the Associations section within the Account

Here you will see the current Parent Account connection.


Step 3: Remove the existing Parent Account

  • Click Remove next to the Parent Account

This will disconnect the current Parent–Child relationship.


Step 4: Create a new association (if needed)

Once the existing association is removed:

  • Click to add a new Parent Account

  • Select the correct Account from the list


Important notes

  • Removing an association does not delete either Account

  • You can only assign one Parent Account per Child Account

  • Changes take effect immediately

  • Associations can be updated at any time
