Setup Values

This article will show you the available field categories and how to manage them.

Here you will find the various system fields that are available in Event Temple.

Each Setup Value will have default/recommended options already available. You will also be able to add other fields if required.

Selections on fields can be used for reporting purposes.

For organizations that are part of a Chain, there is the option to add the options to the whole chain, or specific Organization/s.

Types of Setup Values

Revenue Categories

Revenue Categories can be attached to Menu Items. These categories help you report on revenue by type. They also help to display the right menu items in the right section of your Documents automatically.

Revenue categories fall under 5 default Revenue Groups. These are: food, beverage, AV, Room Rental and Miscellaneous.

You can have as many Revenue Categories as you like that will belong to a parent Revenue Group. This adds extra layers to your reporting; allowing you to Report on Revenue Categories themselves or the Parent Revenue Groups. And the reverse affect if you'd rather show multiple categories together, for example in a BEO you can add 'beverage' rather than multiple revenue categories of 'hard liquor, beer & wine, non-alcoholic'.

Referral Sources

These are used to track what sales and marketing activities at your property are driving leads and bookings. This can also be used as a question on Intake Forms!

Lost Reasons

Lost Reasons are used to track why deals are lost or turned down by your property.

Booking Types

Booking Types are the variety of different Bookings you may have. This can also be used as a question on Intake Forms!

Task Types

Tasks, often called Traces, are most commonly used to track sales and operational activities in Event Temple.

Event Types

These are the types of Events you have at your property.

Event Setup Styles

These are the ways you setup your various meeting rooms and event spaces.

Account Types

Account Types are keywords used to track certain kinds of Accounts.

Market Segments

These are used to track the revenue mix of your accounts for prospecting, competitive strategy, and revenue management.

Document Types

Document types are keywords used to track certain kinds of documents.

Payment Types

Here you will have the payment options your company accepts, please note that Event Temple has an integration with Stripe which allows you to collect payments online.

How to Manage Setup Values

How to Add fields

  1. Select Settings

  2. Select Fields

  3. Select Setup Values

  4. Click on the field category you will like to add (for example "Lost Reason")

  5. Select Add Lost Reason

  6. Input Value

  7. Select Save

How to delete fields

  1. Select Settings

  2. Select Fields

  3. Select Setup Values

  4. Click on the field category you will like to add (for example "Lost Reason")

  5. Click on the field you would like to delete and select the red trash icon

  6. Select delete to confirm

How to edit Setup Values

  1. Select Settings

  2. Select Fields

  3. Select Setup Values

  4. Click on the field category you will like to add for example "Lost Reason"

  5. Select on the field you would like to edit and click the purple modify pencil

  6. Edit the field and click Save

    Please note that if you will like to change the order of the fields you can drag and drop.

Important Considerations

  • In addition to all the Setup Values listed above, you will also be able to tailor Event Temple for your particular needs and add fields that are specific to your business.

  • When adding a New Task from the Task subtab in a booking you will be able to see an option to Manage Task Types, this link is a shortcut to the Task Types section under Settings.

  • If your organization is part of a Chain, by default, when created, these options will be accessible to everyone in the Chain. However, Chain Administrators have the option to make any of these values available to specific organizations within the chain when setting them up.

  • If a Setup Value is removed from an Organization, any Booking/Items assigned will remain as they are, however, users will no longer be able to select it when adding/editing.
