Overview
Each claim in your system will not only need to be associated to a Client Company, but also to a Branch.
By setting up the Companies and Branches in a specific way, you will not only be able to better manage your users' access to the claims in your system, but also enable and take advantage of many more of the default settings.
In some instances, it may be best to add/create a separate Branch for each Line of Business (LOB) or specific to each client company.
Ex: CAT Branch, Property Branch, etc. or ABC Insurance CAT Branch, ABC Insurance Property Branch, and so forth.
*IMPORTANT Note: The below items are those that are controlled per the Branch:
File numbers (unless a custom file number has been set up as an option for a user to choose from when entering a new claim)
Address displayed on FileTrac generated documents such as Acknowledgement Letters, Loss Notices, and Client Invoices.
Employee user access (Branch Admin, Clerical, Staff Adjuster, Read Only)

File Numbers
Choose the File # Setup (each Branch can have its own custom File # setup)
Automatic Sequence
*Automatic Sequence: (Recommended): With this selection, enter a Prefix (optional), the number of Digits, and the "Seed" File #. The "Seed" File # is the starting number for this particular Branch. The maximum character count for a file # is 9 total (this includes any prefix and/or dashes). We recommend no more than 3 characters in a prefix and 5 digits.
Example 1:
Claims assigned to a branch with this file setup would automatically number with the first claim being assigned as 21-00001, the second claim assigned as 21-00002, and so forth...
Example 2:
Claims assigned to a branch with this file setup would automatically number with the first claim being assigned as MBR00001, the second claim assigned as MBR00002, and so forth...
Custom File Numbers
*Custom File IDs: Only use this option if you do not want the system to automatically assign a file number. You will need to manually assign the file number for each new claim that is added to your system.
