Overview
The TORRENT bridge connects FileTrac to the TORRENT system used for National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) flood claims reporting. Once enabled, the bridge maps specific data fields from FileTrac's Edit Claims page to their TORRENT equivalents, allowing you to submit flood claim data — including the Final Report — directly from FileTrac without re-entering information in TORRENT.
This article covers everything you need to know about using the TORRENT bridge: enabling it, entering the required data fields, and submitting to TORRENT.
Enabling the TORRENT Bridge
The TORRENT bridge is not enabled by default. To activate it for your adjusting firm:
1. Contact the Evolution Global support team at support@evolution.global and request TORRENT bridge activation.
2. The support team will enable the bridge on your account. Refer to your contract for details on any associated costs.
3. Once activated, the TORRENT-specific fields will appear in the Edit Claims page for flood-related claims.
Where to Find TORRENT Fields
All TORRENT data fields are located on the Edit Claims page. After saving a new claim in FileTrac, navigate to Edit Claims and look for the flood-specific section.
If the TORRENT fields are not visible: The flood fields section may be collapsed. Look for a toggle or expand control to "show" the flood fields. Expand this section to reveal the full set of TORRENT-mapped fields.
TORRENT Data Fields
The following fields in FileTrac map directly to TORRENT. You should populate these as part of your normal claims workflow so the data is ready when it's time to submit.
Loss and Damage Information
TORRENT Loss Cause — Select the cause of loss from the dropdown. This maps to the TORRENT loss cause category for the flood event.
CWOP Reason (Building) — If the building portion of the claim is closed without payment (CWOP), select the applicable reason from the dropdown.
CWOP Reason (Contents) — Same as above, but for the contents portion of the claim.
TORRENT Replacement Cost Basis — Select the applicable replacement cost basis from the dropdown.
Flood Event Details
Flood Control Measures — A series of Yes/No questions about flood control measures at the property. Answer each as applicable.
Date Water Entered / Date Water Receded — Enter the dates (and times, if available) when floodwater entered and receded from the structure.
Interior Water Depth — Enter the water depth inside the main structure and any appurtenant structures (in inches or feet as prompted).
Exterior Water Depth — Enter the water depth outside the main structure and any appurtenant structures.
Prior Losses
The Prior Losses table captures historical flood loss data for the property. For each prior loss, enter:
• Loss Date — The date of the prior flood event
• Building Payment — Amount paid for building damage
• Contents Payment — Amount paid for contents damage
• ICC Payment — Increased Cost of Compliance payment amount
• Examiner — The examiner who handled the prior claim
Financial Figures
The financial section of the Edit Claims page includes reserve amounts, payment figures, and other monetary data that TORRENT requires for the Final Report.
Important: The financial figures MUST be fully populated before you can submit the Final Report to TORRENT. If any required financial fields are missing or incomplete, the submission will fail.
Submitting the Final Report to TORRENT
Once all TORRENT fields are complete and the financial figures are populated:
1. Review all TORRENT-mapped fields on the Edit Claims page for completeness and accuracy.
2. Verify that all financial figures are entered — building, contents, and ICC amounts as applicable.
3. Use the TORRENT submission action (available in the Edit Claims page once the bridge is active) to send the Final Report.
4. FileTrac will transmit the mapped data to TORRENT. You will receive confirmation of a successful submission or an error message if required fields are missing.
Troubleshooting
TORRENT fields not visible on Edit Claims: Make sure the flood fields section is expanded (not collapsed). If you still don't see them, confirm that the TORRENT bridge has been activated on your account by contacting support@evolution.global.
Final Report submission fails: Check that all financial figures are populated. TORRENT requires complete financial data before accepting the Final Report. Review each financial field and fill in any blanks.
"Required field missing" error: TORRENT validates multiple fields on submission. Cross-check the Loss Cause, CWOP Reason (if applicable), Replacement Cost Basis, water dates, and water depth fields to ensure nothing is blank.
Need to make changes after submission: Contact the Evolution Global support team for guidance on resubmitting or correcting data that has already been sent to TORRENT.
