A stimulus is for providing instructions or information as part of an item that does not present any way for a student to answer, and cannot be scored. A stimulus should be used when a single item has multiple questions that referred to the same instructions, or resource such as a graphic.
Note: a stimulus does NOT need to be used to display a prompt before another question type. All question types have prompts.
