My Exchanger101 Account Was Locked. Why Is That & How Do I Unlock It?

If you suddenly find out that your Exchanger101 account has been locked, we apologize for the inconvenience. Part of our commitment to customer safety requires that we be especially vigilant when it comes to protecting your account, and that sometimes means that we have to lock it.

So, what do you do in this situation?

Why Your Account Might Have Been Locked

Before looking into how to handle account restrictions, it’s important to get to the bottom of why your account was locked in the first place. And, there are several reasons for this:

Too Many Sign-in Attempts

The most prominent reason for account restrictions is an excessive number of failed sign-in attempts. We do this to protect you, as too many failed attempts will suggest that an unauthorized party is trying to break into your account.

Incorrect PIN Inputs

For transactions to be completed using your account, it’s important to enter your PIN. However, if our system notices several failed PIN entry attempts, then we could block your account to protect you.

Suspicious Account Activity

Exchanger101 operates within the boundaries of the law. And this means that we’re obligated to report transactions that we believe to be suspicious in any way.

So, if we suspect that your account could have been involved in any suspicious transactions or activity, we might be forced to lock it while we conduct a thorough investigation.

You Forgot Your Details

It is also possible that you’re unable t access your account because you can’t remember your login details - hey, don’t worry; it happens to everyone from time to time.

What Do You Do When Your Account Is Locked?

We understand that a locked account can be frustrating - especially if you have funds in it. However, this doesn’t mean that your funds are gone.

Alternatively, you could try resetting your login credentials if you forgot them. On your sign-in page, tap the “Forgot Password” button and follow the on-screen instructions to learn how you can reset your password in a few minutes.
