Hi there! ๐Ÿ‘‹ We're so excited that you'll be using Exer Studio to add some magic to your virtual workout.

Before you start, make sure you have Exer Studio opened up in your browser (instructions here).

With that, let's jump in with some tips on how to set up your space for the optimal Exer Studio experience:

Setting Up Your Computer

You can put your computer anywhere thatโ€™s comfortable for you -- on the table, on the floor, on your couch or even outdoors! Make sure that you can see yourself in frame (i.e. head to toe in camera) during the workout so that you can get an accurate output score. Youโ€™ll usually have to stand about 6ft away from your computer.

We recommend charging up your computer or plugging in the charger during your workout if possible. Running a video communication tool with Exer Studio might drain your laptop battery.

Position Yourself

Ideally you should be able to see your full body (head to toes) in your video screen so that our AI can give you an accurate output score based on your movement.

  • If parts of your body are not in frame, you might not be awarded an accurate score.

  • If youโ€™re doing exercises on the floor during the workout (e.g core workout / pushups etc), you might want to adjust your laptop camera during the workout so that it can still capture your movement.

In the above gif, Clint (our Head Coach) is mostly in frame when he's on the floor doing the burpee or jumping up.

We recommend working out with your side facing the camera if possible, but a front facing view or 3/4 facing view to the camera works too, as long as you're within the camera frame.

Make sure that youโ€™re working out in a well-lit area so that you can receive accurate scoring in Exer Studio. Here are some suggestions for your set up:

  • Turn on the lights in the room

  • Workout outdoors

  • Avoid being backlit, where the light source is behind you (this applies to both indoor and outdoor workouts). For instance, don't work out in front of a window with bright light. If so, drawing your shades might help.
