The Cost-Effectiveness Explorer team is thrilled to announce a significant improvement to the requirements page for existing building policies. If you've recently accessed a policy you created before October 4, 2023 and noticed a notification about changes, you're in the right place! We're here to guide you through these updates and ensure that your hard work remains intact.
Requirements Screen Evolution
Let's take a look at the evolution of the requirements page:
Screen A: Old Prescriptive Requirements Screen
The requirements screen you're used to likely looked like the image above. This is where you could select which measures you wanted to require permit applicants to install. This is the prescriptive compliance method, where permit applicants don't have a choice of what to install, and instead need to follow your exact requirements.
Screen B: Old Flexible Requirements Screen
Under this old configuration, you could access flexible compliance from the Flexible Compliance tab, and the screen would look like the image above. This is where you could set your Target Score, which is the minimum number of points that permit applicants must earn to comply with your policy requirement.
New Requirements Screen
In the new requirements page pictured above, we have combined these two policy configurations to be available from the same screen. This is intended to streamline your policy creation process and make it easier to evaluate your options.
Transitioning Old Policies
Rest assured, your policy's requirements have been preserved. To transition to the new format, determine which compliance method you primarily used:
If you focused on Screen A, choose the prescriptive version.
If Screen B was your main area of work, select the flexible version.
If you're uncertain, keep both policy formats and explore them.
Managing Your Policies
When you have determined which compliance method you are most interested in proceeding with, you can delete any unwanted versions from your "My Policies" page by clicking the three dots to the right of the relevant policy and selecting "Delete".
Switching Compliance Methods
Need to change compliance methods within the same policy? It's a breeze! Toggle one compliance method off and the other on. Alternatively, keep both toggles on if you want to both specify measures and set a required flexible score.
