Offer Advocates Multiple Gift Card Options

The reward you give to your consumers should be tailor-made to fit with your brand. Though this will usually be a single coupon, account credits, or a gift card, there are some use cases where you might want to offer them a choice of reward options rather than a default.

If you want to offer a large selection of gift cards for specific stores, then Reward Link is your best choice. A Reward Link card is a virtual gift card that can be redeemed for one or many other gift cards. It is also in your brand so it looks like it is coming from you but can be redeemed at multiple places. If you give an advocate a $50 {Company Name} gift card, they could redeem it for a $50 Amazon.com card or a $50 iTunes card. Configuring Incentives for Multiple Reward Options

Configuring an incentive to have multiple reward options is similar to the normal incentive configuration, with one variation: you are not limited to a single reward choice.

To configure an incentive for multiple reward options:

Navigate to my.extole.com/account-rewards. Follow these steps to reward your consumers with gift cards:

Setting Up the Card

  1. Click "+ New Reward" in the top right corner

  2. Select Gift Card.

  3. Select Reward Link Preferred

  4. Set up a balance warning

  5. Set up a max fulfillment rate

  6. Fund your gift card balance.

Adding the Card to a Campaign

  1. Pick your program and campaign you want to assign the card to from your program dashboard.

  2. Click "Edit" on the campaign you are assigning the reward to.

  3. Click Advocate or Friend, whoever you are sending the reward to, and click Gift Card Configuration. Enable this. If this does not exist in your campaign, please reach out to our support team to get it added. Here you can configure a small number of elements for the email that gets sent.

    1. Template ID - this is only used if you have multiple templates for gift card sends. Your CSM can get you this information if you require multiple templates.

    2. Message - this can be used to populate part of the email if needed.

  4. Click the Rules tab in the campaign editor and add the reward to the event you wish to reward on.

Redemption Flow for Multiple Reward Options

If your campaign is using the Reward Link option, the redemption flow is as follows:

  1. Each time a consumer earns a reward, they will be sent a reward email that is branded to your business but contains a link to claim their reward.

  2. Tapping on the link will take the consumer to a landing page that describes the available rewards - by default, this will be a list of all available rewards. You can ask Extole to configure this to be a small subset of options.

  3. If they want, the user can distribute their funds across multiple cards.

  4. Once the user makes their selection, they check out and confirm their email address for the delivery of the new card.

  5. The user will receive another branded email with their selected reward(s) soon after.
