Overview
Before you can assign employees to shifts, you need to set up the structure of your work schedule in the system. This guide is intended for anyone setting up a work schedule in EZTime for the first time.
The process consists of three main stages: creating the schedule, assigning the relevant employees, and defining the shifts.
Step 1 — Create a New Work Schedule
In the side menu, click "Shift Management", then "Shifts List".
Click "Create New" and give the schedule an identifying name — for example: "Tel Aviv Branch", "Kitchen Team", etc.
Step 2 — Define Roles for the Schedule
After creating the schedule, you need to define the relevant roles — for example: waiter, chef, shift manager, etc.
In the side menu, under "Shift Management", click "Shift Role" and add the required roles.
Step 3 — Assign Employees to the Schedule
Go to the employee list and select the employees you would like to assign to the schedule.
Click the "Actions" button and select the option to assign them to the schedule you created.
Click the "Actions" button again and select the option to assign them to the roles you created.
Step 4 — Define Shifts
Go back to the "Shift Management" tab and click "Shift Scheduling".
Click "Add Shift" and define the shift details — name, start and end times, and relevant roles.
Step 5 — Edit Days and Shifts
Once the shifts are created, you can customize each day individually — for example:
Close weekend days
Change shift hours on a specific day
Add a one-off shift on a given day
Step 6 — Add Employees to the Schedule
Once your shifts are set up, you're ready to start assigning employees to shifts.
