Go to the Observations tab by clicking on it on the sidebar to the left of your browser screen. On a tablet or smartphone the Observations tab will be at the bottom of the screen.

  • The Search field on the top of the observation list page allows searching for free text in real time from all fields.

  • Various different formats can be used for searching as follows

    • by default all the search keywords are AND'ed together

    • OR is also possible by adding word "or" between the words

    • Additionally quotation marks " can be used for specifying that words must be in certain order, also - (minus) can be used for excluding certain word(s) from search

Example 1: searching all observations containing keywords near miss

Example 2: searching for all observations containing keyword near miss and Stockholm

Example 3: searching for all observations containing keyword near miss but Not Stockholm

Example 4: searching for all observations that contain the word pair "hazard kouvola"

Example 5: searching for all observations containing either oslo or helsinkiย

Example 6: searching for all observations containing either oslo or helsinki but must also include keyword near miss

The filters are on the right side of your browser screen. Observations can be filtered according to date, status, category, place, assignees, and place tags. Several search terms can be selected at the same time.

Observations are found with the open, overdue or closed status filters only if statuses are in use. The None filter shows the observations that do not have a status.

Administrators can allow the use of statuses in the observation category settings. The instructions can be found here.
