Falcony supports reporting while offline. Offline support for audits is always available. Offline support for observations is a premium feature. Please contact our sales team if you are interested in enabling offline support for observations in your organization.

Requirements

  • iPhone and iPad: iOS 12.3 or newer.

  • Android: latest 2 versions of Chrome browser.

Usage

Checklist before going offline

  1. Ensure that your device meets the requirements listed above.

  2. Ensure that you are logged in to falcony.io on your device.

  3. Go to the Report page.

  4. Switch on the airplane mode on your device.

  5. Reload the page. If you can see the report page after reloading, you’re ready to report observations offline.

  6. Switch off the airplane mode on your device.

While offline

While offline, you can save unsent observations to be sent later once you've regained Internet access. See below video for an example on how to report an observation while offline.

When online again

You can send unsent observations in the Unsent observations page. See below video for an example on how to send the unsent observation once you've regained Internet access.
Note: unsent observations are not visible to other people, and exist only on your device. Only after sending an unsent observation will the relevant people be notified.

Performing audits offline

By default, Falcony downloads the last five used audit templates for use without an Internet connection. Additionally, whenever you open an ongoing audit or start a new audit its template is downloaded for use without an Internet connection. By opening the audit, its template is always loaded into the browser's cache. This is indicated by a checkmark next to the audit's name, signifying offline availability.

Falcony primarily saves changes made to the audit form to the browser's database and attempts to send the data to the server when Internet connection is available. This ensures that entered data is not lost if something goes wrong, the Internet connection is not working, is slow, or is interrupted.

Limitations

  • You have to log in to Falcony while online, before you can report observations offline.

  • You cannot change the language or organization while offline.

  • Some of the pages inside Falcony will not be available offline.

  • Offline support is not enabled on Safari and Firefox when using incognito or private browsing mode.
