User custom rights

How to manage users who do not belong to a role

Users not belonging to any role may be given custom rights.

Where to find the settings

  1. Navigate to the Administration page and click 'Users'

  2. Select the user from the list, or use the search function to the top right of the list to search or filter

  3. On the user page you may assign the user to a role, make them an administrator, or grant custom rights.

Access Control

Report Rights

This is what the user can report and do themselves within Falcony.

  • Places refers to the locations where the user may report observations and/or conduct audits.

  • Categories refers to what observations or audits the user may report.

View Rights

This is what the user may see within Falcony.

  • Places refers to the locations from where the user can view other user's reported observations and conducted audits

  • Categories refers to what observations or audits the user may see.

Edit Rights

This is what the user may edit within Falcony. This must be a subset of the users View Rights, meaning that the user must also have view rights to the same items as they have edit rights.

  • Places refers to the locations of the observations that the user has edit rights to.

  • Categories refers to what observations the user may edit.

Assignee settings

Observation assigning rights

  • This user can't be assigned to observations

    • If this option is selected, the user may not be assigned to observations

  • This user can be assigned to observations where…

    • If this option is selected, the user may be assigned to observations. It is possible to define what Places and what Categories the user may be assigned to.

Default assignee

If the user may be assigned to observations, it is possible to set them as default assignees as well. This must be a subset of what the user can be assigned to.

  • This user is by default not assigned to any observations.

    • If this option is selected, the user is not automatically assigned to anything.

  • By default this user is assigned to observations where:

    • If this option is selected, the user is automatically assigned to observations defined below. It is possible to define what Places and what Categories the user is automatically assigned to.

  • This user can edit observation participants

    • The user may see who the observation participants are, and manually add or remove users from the participants list.

  • This user can see observation participants

    • The user may see who the observation participants are, but may not modify the participant list in any way.

  • This user can't see observation participants

    • The user has no visibility of who the observation participants are.

Additional settings

  • Can assign observations to users

    • If this option is selected, the user may manually assign the observation to users.

  • Mark this as a shared account

    • Mark this account as shareable by multiple people. Shared user accounts can't edit their own settings. It is also possible to set default reporting place for a shared user account. When reporting from a shared account the reporting page will have an additional question requiring the reporter to input their name. This will be shown in the observation page as the name of the reporter.

  • Can manage users

    • Sets this account as a restricted admin, which allows them to create, edit and remove other user accounts that have less or equal access rights. See Restricted admin help center article for more information.
