Users with editing rights to an observation can handle any follow-up objectives associated with it. Users who are assigned an observation will automatically receive editing rights to the observation they are assigned to.
Whenever a new observation is reported, email notifications are sent out to all observation participants. The notifications settings may be changed for individual users.
The reported observations can be found from the Observations menu. They can be filtered with the terms in the menu on the right. You can choose to see for example only open observations. It depends on the user right settings what observations are visible to the user.
An observation can be accessed by clicking its heading.
This is what the reported incident looks like. Attachments, linked observations and comments may be added to it.
The observation may have a Follow-up section, which can contain mandatory Follow-up questions. In that case the assignee is required to answer the follow-up questions before the observation can be marked as closed.
Any user with editing rights may edit the observation from the pencil icon in the top right corner of the section they wish to edit. Editing is needed to answer the follow-up questions.
Here you can find more specific instructions for editing an observation.
The observation can be marked as closed on the bottom of the page once all mandatory follow-up questions have been answered. It can be reopened again from the same button.
It is also possible that follow-up actions are not made mandatory for the observation category, and the observation does not have a "Mark as closed/open" button. In that case it looks like this:
