Promote your music on streaming platforms with Discovery Mode

What is Discovery Mode?

Discovery Mode (DM) is a powerful tool designed to help artists expand their reach and grow their fanbase on streaming platforms. By opting in, artists can increase their chances of connecting with new listeners worldwide.

How It Works:

Discovery Mode enhances music discovery by influencing the platform’s recommendation algorithm, which curates personalized listening experiences. Here’s how it works:

  1. Opting In: Artists select specific tracks to be included in Discovery Mode. Once opted in, the platform recognizes this selection, increasing the likelihood of those songs being recommended—though promotion is not guaranteed.

  2. Algorithm Prioritization: Selected tracks receive higher priority in the platform’s recommendation system, making them more likely to appear in Autoplay, Radio, and personalized mixes for listeners with similar musical tastes.

Selection for Discovery Mode campaigns is based on various factors, including:

  • Song performance over the past 28 days

  • Artist metrics such as followers, monthly listeners, and playlist adds

Why Is Discovery Mode Effective?

Unlike traditional paid promotion, Discovery Mode works by aligning with listeners' genuine preferences. The algorithm prioritizes tracks based on user listening patterns, making recommendations feel more organic. However, success depends on fan engagement—if listeners respond positively, streaming platforms will continue recommending the track.

Eligible Tracks for Discovery Mode

  • Must be distributed via Family in Music

  • Must have been released for at least 30 days

  • Must have at least 1,000 total streams globally

Content Not Eligible for Discovery Mode:

What Results Can Artists Expect?

Artists using Discovery Mode have seen:

  • 50% increase in saves

  • 44% more user playlist adds

  • 37% growth in followers (first month)

  • 58% of new listeners from outside their home country

Since launching in 2023, Family in Music users have experienced an average 300% increase in Discovery Mode-related streams, with many achieving even higher numbers and significant revenue growth.
